RAD by Rad Hourani S/S 2011

In true Hourani fashion, you'd expect an all black affair. How very apt of me then to pick a collection that features my favourite colour. Yes, that line is heavily laced with sarcasm. If you remember 2 posts down, I mentioned how dreadful it is for me to wear black. But I can't help it! Black sticks to me like an awful conjoined twin. I don't like being associated with a dark, brooding art student who by the way if you didn't know, is stereotyped to have a closet full of black clothes. Ok enough of my rant. I shall present to you RAD by Rad Hourani S/S 2011 collection.

His 30 piece collection was a myriad of colours! Ha ha ha. Well it was a collection filled with black, white and grey garments. Very Helmut Lang and Rick Owens if you ask me. The draping of the jacket lapels and Owens aesthetic comes off very strongly in the collection. Very fair play of proportion with the oversized blouses and tight leather pants. Mmmm. The trick with pulling off a monochromatic palette is to play with volume and texture, which he has executed really well. The choice of eyewear... I'm on the fence with. I like the futuristic feel of it, very Margiela's Incognito but.. meh ok I like it.

If anything, this collection just fuels my desire to pick out an all-black ensemble for tomorrow. I rest my case.

Rad says goodbye!
